Honoring the Extraordinary Women That Make Up Our Community

This week we honor women and the contributions they have made as part of International Women’s Day.

In Vistage, we have more than 2,000 women who help make up the heart and soul of the community.

Women like Brit Barber, who started her luxury swimwear line out of college, and is now poised to become a global brand. And like Carol Tometsko of Litron Laboratories, who reached out to her competitors to achieve greater success in testing kits for cancer research. Or Rhoda Olsen, CEO of Great Clips, who has seen 10 years of same-salon growth and a steady increase in salon openings. And then there’s fashion jewelry designer Nadia Lee, who overcame the last recession by attracting stores like Macy’s and Nordstrom with her determination and collaboration with new vendors.

These are just four extraordinary stories — I am proud to be a member of this distinguished group.

And one last (related) note–check out this thought-provoking post from Vistage Chair Aimee Daniels on how to foster greater gender equality in the workplace. Very timely for all of the conversations happening this week.
