Vistage Member Susan White Morrissey Recognized at the New York SmartCEO Brava! Awards

San Diego, CA, September 26, 2014—Susan White Morrissey, CEO of White + Warren and Vistage member since 2009, was recognized by SmartCEO as one of the top female CEOs in New York at the 2014 Brava! Awards, which took place on Tuesday, September 23, 2014, at Capitale. The Brava! Awards program celebrates female CEOs who combine their irrepressible entrepreneurial spirit with a passion for giving back to the community.

Based in New York City and founded in 1997, White + Warren specializes in contemporary knitwear and luxury cashmere apparel. The company’s vision is to offer trend-right product twelve months a year while focusing on extraordinary craftsmanship and meticulous attention to detail. As co-founder and CEO, Morrissey has helped the company distinguish itself as an apparel firm with core values of integrity, respect, loyalty, accessibility and transparency, providing service with professionalism, warmth, and mutual respect in every aspect of the business.

Morrissey’s past philanthropic work includes serving as President of the Board of the Pelham Children’s Center, where she spearheaded the implementation of after-school programs. White + Warren currently supports The Pelham Picture House and both the Union Settlement House in East Harlem and the University Settlement House in the LES.

Brava! Award winners are exemplary leaders of both their companies and their communities. They encourage local philanthropy, mentor up-and-coming leaders and set their companies on the path to tremendous growth. Each year, an independent committee of local business leaders selects winners based on the quality of applications submitted. This year, SmartCEO received more than 200 nominations across the Mid-Atlantic for the award. A group of Greater New York business leaders formed the Brava! Committee and chose the 40 winners. This year’s winners collectively generated $1.2 billion in revenue and employed more than 49,000 individuals.

“Brava winners possess the utmost qualities in a leader — vision, passion, compassion, dedication, perseverance. Every one of this year’s winners exhibits these qualities in running their business, their families and their philanthropic activities. They give 110 percent of themselves,” says Jaime Nespor, regional President of SmartCEO Events. “We are honored and humbled to recognize a group of women who are truly making a difference in the world.”

The event kicked off with a high-energy cocktail reception followed by an engaging, video-packed awards ceremony. An impressive audience of friends, colleagues and family came together to celebrate the winners’ achievements. The 2014 Brava! winners were profiled in the September/October 2014 issue of New York SmartCEO magazine.
