Vistage Chair Dick Singer Named to Pittsburgh 2014 Smart 50

San Diego, CA, November 3, 2014— Vistage Chair Dick Singer has been honored by Smart Business Magazine as one of the Pittsburgh 2014 Smart 50. The Smart 50 Awards, presented by Chase, recognize the top executives of the smartest companies in the region for their ability to effectively build and lead savvy organizations.

A native of Philadelphia, Singer graduated from Temple University with a degree in Communications and had a long career as an executive in the television and radio industry. He joined Vistage International as a Chair in 2003 and was named Best Practice Chair for Pittsburgh and Northeast Ohio in 2011. In 2013 he was honored with the Vistage Hyndman Award, which recognizes a Chair or former Chair who, in the past year, has gone above and beyond the call of duty in service to the Vistage community and has given unselfish and immeasurable service—usually involving actions that go far beyond the normal responsibilities of a Chair.

Singer and his fellow nominees will be honored at an awards ceremony on Wednesday, November 19, 2014, at the Pittsburgh Marriott City Center. The awards will also be featured as the cover story in the November issue of Smart Business Pittsburgh, including a special section highlighting select content from the event and profiles on the honorees.

Eligible Smart 50 nominees must lead organizations that are either are headquartered or have a physical presence in the Pittsburgh area. Smart Business vets all nominations and selects the top 50 organizations that best represent a cross-section of the community in terms of organization size and industry. A panel of business experts and professors reviews those 50 nominations, interviews nominees and select a single overall winner in each of three categories: innovation, impact, and sustainability.
