Event Speakers

Daniel Daoud

Food & Beverage Director, Sommelier, The Newport Beach Country Club
Graduating from Chapman University with a Business degree and being raised in a family of restaurateurs, Daniel Daoud found his natural place in the hospitality industry. He started his managing career at the St Regis Resort as a Food & Beverage Supervisor, and later settled into private clubs when he fell in love with Newport Beach Country Club. Since becoming a Level One Sommelier, Daniel has fully immersed himself in the study of wine— from its history and palate to how it’s made. As Daniel continues to pursue the next level’s certification, he hopes to further learn and appreciate the art of wine through every inhale and every sip

Graeme Blair

Executive Sous Chef, The Newport Beach Country Club
A native of Scotland, Graeme Blair moved to USA to begin his career in Software Engineering, but later decided to follow his passion and transitioned into the kitchen. Graduating from the Arizona Culinary Institute in 2000, Graeme spent over 15 years with Starwood Hotels progressing from an intern to a managing chef. He joined Newport Beach Country Club as an Executive Sous Chef in March 2016. Currently, Graeme is studying for his Level One Sommelier certification. With this endeavor, he hopes to obtain a greater understanding of wine, thus enhancing his culinary process.
