Morning Session | Has the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act impacted the value of your business?

Although the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act (TCJA) did not modify any valuation rules, the TCJA’s “pro-business” changes are likely to lead to increased business value. Business owners, especially those planning to exit their businesses, should be aware of the new opportunities and work with their advisors to devise value enhancement strategies based on the provisions of the TCJA. This presentation will discuss how the TCJA will impact conclusions of value and address corresponding considerations for business owners, including:
  • Increased free cash flow due to the reduced corporate tax burdens
  • Enhanced rules for accelerated depreciation of fixed assets and business expensing
  • Changes in cost of capital
  • Application of market multiples post-TCJA
