Small Business Week Spotlight: Art Saxby
In honor of National Small Business Week, we are celebrating Vistage members who started small, dreamed big, and got results. Throughout the week, they will be sharing their stories on how they drive growth for their business, how they take risks, and what their visions are for the future.
Even before he started the largest management consulting company in the U.S., Art believed in the power of bringing in an informed outsider to help companies discover their internal issues. So when he started Chief Outsiders in 2009, he became well-known as “Mr. Fix It” among companies for helping them bring in outside consultants that provide innovative insights. Today Chief Outsiders continues to bring their team of experienced chief marketing officers that advises clients on implementing key top-line growth initiatives.
My 3 to drive my business forward
- Keeping the vision for why we are building a company and a culture front and center, repeatedly.
- Getting the right people on the right projects, then letting them do what they love to do.
- Focusing on the business development efforts of the company, but doing it in a way that many can participate.
My leap of faith
Allowing experienced passionate people to do what they love to do, even if they do it differently than how I would do it.
My vision for the future
We are building a $100 million national management consulting firm, that will also go international. We make big things happen for our clients by building a company and a culture that attracts the world’s greatest marketers because we help them do the best work of their careers, surrounded by people they love to learn from.
