4 favorite holiday stories, re-imagined

It’s the time of year when we share our favorite holiday stories (or watch the many movie adaptations!) with our children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

It got me thinking: What if some of these classics were re-written by our Vistage members and their fellow peer group members? Here is a look at a few re-imaginings:

1. How the Grinch Stole Christmas

Instead of the Grinch sneaking off and stealing gifts, the townspeople gather as a peer group, and question why he really hates Christmas, offering him a sounding board.

2. Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer

Instead of the reindeers bullying him, Rudolph’s group spotlights him as a true leader who can break through and not just go along with the crowd. His group encourages him to take his red-nosed-leadership to the next level and teach others to embrace their unique traits.

3. Frosty the Snowman

Instead of Frosty leaving town and promising to return one day, his group forms a Tiger Team to see how they can work on having Frosty stay throughout the year.

4. A Christmas Carol

Instead of being scared of the ghosts of Christmas past, present and the future, his group encourages Ebenezer Scrooge to collaborate with his so-called enemies. How can they work together to learn from past experiences? What present challenges can they solve as a group? How can they join forces for future growth? Ebenezer wakes up refreshed with three allies to help scale his business.
