Survey: CEO confidence remains guarded

The WSJ/Small Business CEO Confidence index revealed that a growing number of CEOs note a worsening economy and anticipate a persistent economic slowdown. The overall numbers for August’s survey indicate modest optimism levels for predicted growth and revenue, with a bare majority planning increased hiring in the months ahead.
