Alan Beaulieu has been an economist with the Institute for Trend Research (ITR) since 1990. At the Institute, he has been engaged in applied research regarding business cycle trend analysis, growth cycle trend analysis, and the utilization of cyclical analysis at a practical business level. The applied research conducted by the Institute includes domestic and international economic issues. Alan is a featured speaker at corporate and trade association meetings both in the U.S. and overseas.

Prior to joining ITR, Alan was a principal in several firms, including structural steel fabrication and computer systems development and implementation. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from New Hampshire College.

Brian Beaulieu has been an economist with the Institute for Trend Research since 1982, serving as its executive director since 1987. At the Institute, he has been primarily engaged in applied research regarding business cycle trend analysis, growth cycle trend analysis, and the utilization of cyclical analysis at a practical business level. The applied research conducted by the Institute includes domestic and international economic issues. Brian is also engaged in fundamental research focused on long-range quantitative forecasting of basic industrial and financial trends.

Brian's views have appeared in: the Wall Street Journal, New York Times, Barron’s, USA Today, Knight Ridder News Services, Reuters, The Washington Times, CBS Radio and numerous other outlets. He is a regular columnist and contributing economist to national trade associations and publications, and also serves as chief economist for the Vistage CEO Confidence Index survey. He is the recipient of the 2003 National Republican Congressional Committee Leadership Award.
