Vistage member Scott Abrams selected as recipient of the Lifetime Achievement in Reliability Award for 2014 by the IEEE Reliability Society

San Diego, January 9, 2015— Scott Abrams, Vistage member since 2012, was recently selected as recipient of The Lifetime Achievement in Reliability Award for 2014 by the IEEE Reliability Society. This award recognizes key contributions to the reliability profession throughout the recipient’s career, and is a testimony to outstanding technical achievements and demonstrated interest in IEEE and reliability-related professional activities. This is the fourth award to be presented to the Omnicon Group by the IEEE Reliability Society.

Abrams is the founder and President/CEO of The Omnicon Group Inc., one of the nation’s leading engineering firms specializing in software, hardware, systems, reliability, safety and test system engineering. Born in Bronx, New York, Scott received his B.E. in Electrical Engineering from the State University of New York at Stony Brook and a M.S. in Electrical Engineering from Polytechnic University. He is a licensed Professional Engineer in New York State and an elected member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE) Reliability Society Administrative Committee.

Nominations and Awards Committee Chair Dennis Hoffman noted that “the Reliability Society does not necessarily offer this Award each year although we do advertise for nominations each year. We only award it when a candidate is unusually qualified, and this year’s nomination of [Abrams’s] credentials presented just such an argument in favor.”

Abrams is being recognized for “for delivering innovative software tools and analysis methods used in military and space applications, consumer electronics, transportation, information technology, and medical devices, all enabling higher levels of product reliability and safety using an entrepreneurial technology-transfer approach.”

The award will be presented at the IEEE Reliability Society Award Dinner on January 24, 2015, in Palm Harbor, Florida, just before the Reliability, Availability, and Maintainability Symposium (RAMS). It will also be noted at the RAMS banquet on January 28.
