Vistage Chair Mike Akers launches new private advisory board for chief executives in Asheville

San Diego, April 6, 2015— Vistage Chair Mike Akers has recently launched a new chief executive group in the Asheville, NC market. The new Vistage members will meet monthly to discuss business issues, share expertise, and provide one another confidential help to achieve their goals. Akers is part of a community of more than 800 Chairs worldwide who lead local area groups, which total more than 19,000 members in 16 countries.

Mike has worked in a variety of industries serving in a CEO capacity for three companies over ten years, two award-winning, and CFO for twenty years, and now works as a consultant for Blueriver Partners, LLC where he is a partner. He is motivated by helping companies, and the leaders of those companies, create financial and non-financial value. Mike’s desire to help others is his primary reason for becoming a Vistage chair. His strengths are in leadership development, strategic thinking/planning/execution, profitable growth, building teams, and financial performance. Mike has a B.A. in Accounting from the University of Tennessee, has worked for several non-profit boards, and currently volunteers his time as a mentor with family business organizations and chambers of commerce.
