Vistage Chair Mark Wellman Launches First Small Business Group in Maine

San Diego, October 1, 2014— Vistage Chair Mark Wellman recently launched a new small business group focused on helping members evaluate opportunities, gain new perspectives and discover a renewed sense of direction. This is the first Vistage group to join the Portland, ME business community. Wellman is part of a larger community comprised of more than 400 Chairs and 45,000 members in 35 countries.

The announcement was made by Vistage Regional Executive Phil Thomas, who applauded his success: “Congratulations Mark, on this significant accomplishment – the launch of the first ever SB Group in the state of Maine! It has been a long, steady effort and you have stuck to it all the way through. Now with other Chairs starting to build in Maine alongside you, we fully expect a thriving cluster of Chairs building and operating in and around the Portland area. Well done, Mark!”

Mark Wellman has a varied and deep portfolio, operating a number of Maine companies in marketing communications, multimedia production, publishing, and commercial photography. As an ad agency owner, Wellman and his team developed and implemented successful marketing communications programs for some of Maine’s top brands. His decision to launch Maine Ahead magazine, dedicated to empowering people in charge, was a natural predecessor to his current work as a Vistage chair. Wellman, who earned a BA in Communications from the University of Maine in Orono, recently met his third granddaughter, a tiny superstar named Audrey.
