Sharon Emek named winner of the Vistage Leadership Legacy Award

SAN DIEGO (August 19, 2016) — Vistage Worldwide, Inc., a global organization that assembles and facilitates private advisory boards for CEOs, senior executives and business owners, recently presented Sharon Emek, CEO of Work At Home Vintage Experts, with the Vistage Leadership Legacy Award at SmartCEO’s New York Brava! Awards. Vistage developed the Vistage Leadership Legacy Award in early 2015, in partnership with SmartCEO Magazine to honor exceptional small business executives. The award is open to small business executives only, across any industry with an average annual revenue of $5 to $100 million.

“We selected Sharon because she has broken the mold of the traditional insurance staffing structure, in a way that is changing lives and producing impressive results,” said Lee Peters, Regional Executive for Vistage’s Mid-Atlantic Region.

Sharon Emek is founder and CEO of Work At Home Vintage Employees LLC (WAHVE), which bridges the gap between insurance firms’ staffing needs and seasoned professionals’ “work-life” balance preferences as they phase into retirement. Emek is a prolific public speaker on insurance, management and women’s business issues. She is often sought by the media as an expert, appearing on CNN, CNBC, CBS, and Lifetime; and is often quoted in numerous national insurance and news periodicals including The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, National Underwriter, Business Insurance and others. Emek has testified before the New York State Assembly Insurance Committee, the U.S. House of Representatives’ Financial Services Committee Subcommittees and the National Association of Insurance Commissioners.

The Brava Awards program celebrates high-impact female business leaders in three categories: CEOs, Executive Directors of Nonprofits, and C-suite executives. Brava award winners combine their irrepressible entrepreneurial spirit with a passion for giving back to the community, and are exemplary leaders of both their companies and their communities. They encourage local philanthropy, mentor up-and-coming leaders and set their companies on the path to tremendous growth. Each year, an independent committee of local business leaders selects winners based on company growth, community impact and mentoring.
