My business experience

I have more than 30 years' experience in B2B organizations as president, CEO, general manager and vice president of sales and marketing. I am skilled in manufacturing business process improvement, strategic planning, leadership development, mergers and acquisitions, working with family-owned businesses and turnaround situations. I have served for 15 years as founder of a consulting firm, working with industries ranging from Fortune 100 to entrepreneurial startup ventures.

My Vistage experience

I have been a Vistage Chair since February 2006.

My approach comes down to a handful of basic principles:

Focus on the critical few.
Know what you really want.
Explore the alternatives—there's always a third solution.
Success is the derivative of visionary and strategic execution.

My Vistage groups

Members of my Vistage group include members from a wide range of industries, including manufacturing, artist management, forensic engineering services, law, food product manufacturing, retail distribution, international wine distribution, commercial real estate, health care, high-end cabinet design,and environmental services.

My group works well together, demonstrating a high degree of strategic thinking, execution and results accountability. Members share many common interests and enjoy spending time together after meetings. Our motto could be: Work less/lead more, grow, learn and celebrate success with a few laughs along the way.

I have a BA from the University of Illinois, as well as more than 21,000 hours working with C-level executives on strategy, leadership and execution. I am affiliated with Rotary International; Misericordia, Heart of Mercy; American Heart Association; and the Ronald McDonald Children's Charities. I have also served as a member of the US Secretary of Labor's commission on workplace literacy.
