Sheryl Sandberg on Her Powerful “Circle”

One of the many people I follow for key learnings and trends is Sheryl Sandberg, the COO of Facebook. When I read her recent post, I was inspired by her commitment to meaningful relationships and the influence that had on her year. It is impactful on many different levels. As I look forward to 2016, this message has stayed with me.

In her post, Sandberg talks about how a group of friends supported her through the loss of her husband, Dave, in May. She says, “I believe deeply that everyone needs this kind of help and connection. We all need people who encourage us, believe in us, and remind us that we are not alone.”

It struck me that this is truly what Vistage peer groups do—provide unbiased advice, support and guidance as we experience the ups and downs of our personal and professional lives.

I hope you take the time to read Sheryl’s message on Facebook. Here’s to a 2016 of finding that peer group/circle/tribe to support you in your goals for the New Year!
