My business experience

I am the founder and CEO of Peer Synergy Group, Inc., an executive advisory firm focused on helping chief executives building their leadership skills. In a 24-year career with Eastman Kodak Co., I served in four divisions, working across numerous business industries, including sales, training, operations and various leadership positions. Earlier, I drove East Coast business development for Equarius, a Seattle-based consulting firm and systems integrator. I also directed Southern Regional Sales for Information Architects, a Y2K conversion company.

I am a retired U.S. Army Colonel with 30 years’ active and reserve service.

My Vistage experience

I have been a Vistage Chair since December, 2006.

CEOs constantly face business challenges, looking for fresh ideas, questioning their own decisions, struggling with accountability issues and seeking to improve their performance. When it comes to executive performance, I contend there is nothing more effective than being in a group of like-minded executives who share a common purpose and are willing to help and challenge one another to improve. The collective wisdom of your peers will propel you much faster than any business coach or training program.

My Vistage groups

Members of my Vistage Chief Executive group represent the following industries: banking, investment banking, financial services, payment systems, valve distribution sales, IT staffing, marketing recruiting, hospital project services management, chocolate importer and confectionary sales, credit card processor services, artificial intelligence systems, planning and optimization software and wholesale cabinetry.

There is a good diversity of age and thinking among these members (two are from outside the U.S.). All possess strong family and faith-based values. We’re seeking female chief executives to complement the make-up of the group.

Members of my Vistage Trusted Advisors group represent these industries: tax and accounting, financial services, financial staffing, marketing and brand strategy, real estate, HR consulting, coaching, mortgage, relocation services, Web media services and corporate insurance services. Members have driven personalities. The group consists of ten men and two women.

More about Roger Blackstock

I am a graduate of Presbyterian College and the U.S. Army War College. My education also includes the U.S. Army Command and General Staff College. I have Level II Certification in use of the Hermann Brain Dominance Instrument and certification in Organizational Culture and Emotional Intelligence, Connexus Solutions.

I serve on the Executive Board, NE Georgia Council of the Boy Scouts of America. I am also a Unit Commissioner in the Boy Scouts of America (Etowah District).

I am a member of the National Speakers Association, Georgia Chapter; the American Society for Training and Development; and Reserve Officers Association. I am also an ordained deacon of Parkway Presbyterian Church, as well as the founder and facilitator of the Parkway Business Network.

I enjoy hunting, fishing, tennis and golf, as well as spending time with my family.
